Could Green Tea damage the liver?

The New Scientist ran an article regarding research in which Lead author Chung Yang of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey said that those taking supplements, which can contain up to 50 times as much polyphenol as a single cup of tea are likely to be affected. The article suggests that too much polyphenol, contained within green tea, can potentially cause problems for the liver and kidneys.

Green tea and caffeine

Just like regular tea, green tea contains caffiene - unless specifically decaffeinated. Subsequently, too much caffeine can cause any of the following complaints... nausea, insomnia, or frequent urination. So remember when using suppliments such as green tea pills you are effectly taking a concentrated dose of caffeine.
